Looking good - proper wargaming! Brilliant!

(I must admit I’ve always fancied gaming the Thirty Years War battles in Italy...  you’re giving me ideas!)

The new Beneath the Lily Banners rules would probably suit it - they're designed for the era.

I have tried these a few times and just cant get a game out of them which is a shame as they have some great mechanisms and I really like the look of them. I am having another go with them in April for Great Northenr War so not entirely given up on them yet.

BTLB don’t work for me either, hence the BP and P&S mashup.

Not tried the earlier BtLB personally, but have you tried BtLB 3 - the Irish campaign book?
Some similarities to the Donnybrook skirmish rules, mainly that units have qualities matched to dice type (D6, D8, D10). Haven't played a big game yet, but managed to get in a couple of smallish long-distance games (using a webcam) during lockdown.

I have heard of the conflict although I am looking at the earlier wars in the 1630's. Lovely game and beautiful figures thank you kindly for sharing :)

I have heard of the Italian conflicts although I haven't heard of this and I suspect fictitious. I am looking at the earlier wars in the 1630's the war of the montferrat succession. Lovely game and beautiful figures thank you kindly for sharing :)

p.s I'll actually caveat that and say there was a Waldensian War but in 1686.

I have been playing the "Tercio" rules by Liber Militium and having a great time. They are easy to understand and play smoothly and quickly.

My Waldensian Succession War is completely fictitious but sounds good.
