Yesterday in the Congo basin
« on: March 06, 2020, 11:52:04 AM »
Actually a game of Congo, but with a twisted story that made it appear rather here than on the Colonial Adventures board:

There used to be a remote monastery in Scotland, from where one dubious missionary found his way to the mysterious black heart of darkest Africa. Father Deepfry McHaggis made it to the Congo and found himself bound and about to be cooked in a huge clay cauldron.

The cannibals were actual cultists and worshippers of entities from aeons past and had no interest in his monotheistic stories. They dwelled within some ancient ruins long forgotten by the world around them.

Those Africans hoped to summon a so called Great Old One by sacrifying the Scottish monk. But a white men expedition from distant Belgium was on their way to his rescue.

Long story short: The Belgians wiped out the cannibal tribe and liberated poor Father McHaggis. The Africans could not withstand the sheer fire power of their opponents and suffered heavy losses close to annihilation of every single group of warriors. There were only four of them surviving the attack.

Another great game of Congo with a selfmade story. By the way: The summoning did never happen. The culstists failed to pronounce "Iä!" correctly, due to the missing of Umlauten in their tribal language...

Fantastic looking game, and only disappointing in the failure of an old one turning up - they would have gotten away with it if not for those interfering Umlauten too! Great stuff.
