I recently downloaded the index cards for WH40k 10th edition (Astra Militarum) and it would appear that I have to make a few minor adjustments to the army...
1. My Army Commander (at present) has to be a special character (like Ironhand Straken, for example) because there isn't a vanilla army commander at the moment.
2. In order to have my advisors, I have to have a unit of three attachés so I will need to add a psyker and have a unit of three (Air, Artillery, psyker).
3. My Primaris Psykers can't join command squads so I'll have to spread them out amongst the squads.
4. I will turn a blind eye to some of the close combat weapon options due to not having any chainswords but plenty of hammers.
In all fairness, it's not too bad but it means that I have to sculpt an alternative psyker (Astropath advisor) in order for me to include the advisors and make a few small adjustments to where the characters would be added on the battlefield...
... it's lucky that I don't game but I would like to keep the army "Codex friendly" because the miniatures are being sold and to not have the option of including sculpted miniatures in the army due to there being a required character to add to them, is unfair... So I'll definitely be sorting a proxy Astropath.
I wish, sometimes, that GW would leave things alone... I am old and I fear change
