I recently went to Salute 52, at the ExCel centre in London. I had a great time and have put a blog post together, to share my thoughts. Here's the post:

There is also a hint at what direction the Servitor sculpts might take... so it may be worth a look :) .

If you are going from Aylesbury next year, if I am going you are welcome to a lift as I'm only about half an hour from there. Glad to see the Bunny/Badger game won most innovative again - they were robbed last year.

If you decide to go again in the future I would suggest switching to the Elizabeth Line at Liverpool Street. It's only three stops to Excel and a lot quicker and quieter than the DLR.. Crowds aside I hope you had a good time.

Never thought to go that way.  I always took the tube to North Greenwich Station then the gondola over from the O2.  Takes you right there and you usually miss crowds until you get to the Excel.  It is a few pounds more and it sucks if it is windy.

Yeah my first use of the Lizzy line to Salute, much easier, SE train, change at Abbey Wood, over the bridge, Lizzy line, two stops there, nice  :D

Beats the old not always running DLR on Salute days >:(

It was great to see that the Bunny Badgers won :) . Ben makes cracking scenery and Pete (?) comes up with some great rules and ideas. Then it's up to the rest of the gang to source and paint the miniatures... for the last few years, I have been sculpting random things that aren't necessarily readily available for them.

If I go again, I am likely to stay in London; as close to Salute as possible. The amount of travelling, the poor air quality and my dodgy lungs (long Covid), really took the spring out of my step so I don't want to be travelling so much or staying in the area for so long.

If I do happen to end up in Aylesbury again, @aliensurfer, I may take you up on the offer (that's very kind of you :) ).

In other news, I have got quite far with my servitor robot. The body just needs a few tiny details and then it'll be time to focus on the arms (normal, servo arm, plasma-cannon, heavy bolter and multi-melta):

It's getting there, though... which is good since it's the 5th or 6th attempt at a design for the Servitor robot...

I would say that this is definitely the one to keep - really great lines and a lovely look overall - can't wait to see it with some arms on.

Cheers :) . I'm happy with it so far :) .

It shouldn't be too long before the finished Servitors are added to the army... and with that in mind (to keep the momentum up) I decided to get the army out and see where we're at :) :

Everything that I have, that is destined for the ORIGINAL army plan, is painted :) .

Cheers :) .

Here's the latest update on the Servitor. This one has a standard arm and a servo arm (POORLY stuck on with Blu-tack):

I am in the process of making the three heavy weapons that can replace the servo arm but they are little more than wire covered with a layer of putty at the moment.

Cheers :) .

I got the idea for the arms from a Gundam mecha... I thought the "gangly" arms looked very robotic and as a result, steers the design away from being a copy of the old Exo armour :) .

I've just finished the second Engineseer for the army :) :

Just 8 Servitors and 2 Astropaths to go (when they are made :) ).
