freikorps question
« on: October 16, 2009, 03:38:47 AM »
Hello all, I am looking to do some freikorps action, any one else already doing this and any advice?
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

I´ve started a Freikorps force for T&T sometime back in 2007/08. Not yet finished, though. I used the excellent Great War Miniatures Late WW1 Germans, with the adequate Osprey book on the topic as reference (plus various German accounts on the years from 1919-1922). Still working on a totally inofficial Freikorps army list for T&T, but that´s still in it´s infancy.

If anyone can recommend a better book than the Osprey (which appears decent enough for me, but somehow lacking, although I cannot pinpoint exactly what - you pretty much get what you´d expect from an Osprey book), I´d be happy to hear the advice, too.

I am all over this period. It sure has a lot of potential. I used the Osprey book together with the book of Wooley: GERMAN UNIFORMS, INSIGNIA & EQUIPMENT 1918-1923. There is also a lot of material on the web:

Miniatures I used and converted comes from Great War, Renegade, Brigade, Copplestone, Old Glory

Check the Lead Painters League on this site, a lot of painted Freikorps there

Good luck!
