Thank you.
Here are the first 15 of the Brazilians done and on their bases. I need to do another 9 and I'll have two units finished. I have them sprayed but now need to get them on sticks to be painted.
They are very nice figures and the uniforms of these guys are almost identical to ACW guys in kepis and frock coats, so I might fill in some of the units with some plastics to keep the weight of the army down a bit.

Nice work, and handy that the ACW will proxy as well!

I finished the first two Brazilian units, save for the flags which may have to wait until after quarantine.
I did one unit firing and one unit attacking.
They were really nice figures to paint. I have another set of command for each and an extra 3 figures of each type so I'll have to order one more pack attacking and one more pack firing to get two more units.
For now I have the ACW figs that I should be able to proxy. I need to get some greenstuff as mine seems to have gone off to convert their canteens. It shouldn't be too hard to do, the worst part is going to be cutting the old ones off.
That is the next part of the project. Once I have those ready and sprayed then I'll probably order the two packs mentioned above as well as enough stuff to make 4 more units of Paraguyans so I'll have six units for each side.
Hopefully all of that will keep me going until this whole virus thing is over.
I've also been working on some terrain for this. I got some swampy ground at Cold Wars from Battlefield Terrain Concepts.
Here is most of it painted. There is one big pond that is also finished somewhere around here.

Nicely done - they'll look grand marching across that terrain with the flags. You plan on using the Perry flags?

I'll probably wait on the Argentines for a bit in favour of doing more Brazilians. I want to get 8 units of each done to start with.
Right now I'm planning on using the Perry flags but I may try to paint some myself on lead foil the way I did with the paraguyan ones.

And the rifled muskets vs. smoothbore?
Mine too.
Speaking of, here are a couple more stands of guys with smoothbore and barefoot on the battlefield.
and one more command stand for the guys with shoes.
Time to order some more figs.

I don't know how to explain it, but I think what's really clear with your painting (and the sculpts) is the depressing nature of the conflict. This is not a bad thing, it makes every victory with your miniatures satisfactory.

Are Perry likely to release any cavalry or artillery soon do you know?
Also, just been reading up a little on the war, it seems gunboats played a part, a great modelling opportunity, are you tempted?
