Cracking castle sir!

The outer surface is foam core with the outer layer of paper pealed off and brickwork scored with a pencil.

Wow, how did you manage to peel it off so neatly? I tried this and it was a right mess...had to chuck it in the end.
My current project...Classic Wargame - An experiment in 24" of wargaming!

Here is the finished product. As for peeling off the paper you should try the cheap poster board at the dollar store.

Now that's a lovely looking piece of prime medieval real-estate. Great work!

Lovely  :-* :-* :-*

Can you tell me please, did you wet the backing on the mounting board before peeling it off the foam?

"Can you tell me please, did you wet the backing on the mounting board before peeling it off the foam?"

No I just picked up a corner and peeled it off.

"How did you do the brickwork? pencil & ruler?"

Yes ruler and pencil.

Thanks again for all the kind comments. It was a fun project and one that was long overdue. Hopefully once we can start gaming together again I will run a Dark Ages campaign based in the time of the 1st crusade. Field battles will be fought using To the Strongest rules and sieges will use Tactica Medieval rules that have a nice set of siege rules. I will probably create my own campaign map and the campaign rules.

Doh! You must have magic fingers!  :D

Whenever I've tried to just peal it off it's created a god awful mess- half stuck on, half off, like when you peal a label off an item and can't get the rest of it off.

Nice build!

@Atheling Gotta try the cheap board from the discount store; the art store stuff is glued too well. Cheap is good in this case.

Atheling - Part of the trick is to use the very inexpensive (cheep) poster board from a dollar store. Braz has it correctly.
