Oathmark campaign game. Battle report two now ready.
« on: April 18, 2020, 02:14:14 AM »
So it was against myself, but I tried out the campaign system from Oathmark in a game. Lots of commentary on my blog. I go through a lot of the game system as I play

https://zacgaming.wordpress.com/2020/04/16/oathmark-campaign-game-1/

I will be planning and posting a battle report for the second campaign game which will be a 2000pt battle.

That  is an excellent write up. The best indication I have seen thus far on how the game actually plays out. Your remarks regarding solo play have me sold on buying these rules. I also like d10s, wish more rules used them.

Glad you enjoyed your game. It looks like good old fashioned fun.
Love your empire map, have you done that yourself or is it available to anyone as builder app?

The map was built with an online tool called inkarnate

https://inkarnate.com/

I initially built it using the free version but ended up paying for a years subscription. It is a great tool and even a ham-fisted nonartist like me can do some good work.

It is done.

The battle report for campaign game #2 is finished and ready for your perusal. As before, it is long and has lots of pictures so get something to drink and sit back.

I hope people enjoy it.

Thanks for that.
What I want to know is how many people are playing this?
Plus when lockdown lifts are we going to get any events?
(Although to be honest that could be months away!  :()

Thanks for the report. I enjoyed it  :)

It gives a good and detailed representation of the flow of the game.

Cheers,
Carsten

Judging by the activity on their Facebook group, yes there are definitely people waiting to play this.

The gaming club I'm in already has 6-7 people with 1000 pt armies ready to go.

Lots of people on the Facebook group are doing solo games. I suspect that it is going to be a popular game especially since people can pull out their old Middle Earth/War of the Rings forces and use them.

I added three notes to the second battle report where I messed the rules up

I really should consider this Facebook thingy?
So it appears popular to you guys?

That’s good.
I’ve got a 2000pt Human army almost ready to go.
Do you think 2000pt will be the battle “benchmark” ?
Obviously on the standard 6 X 4 table.

I’m itching to get going...

2000 or 2500 I think. I have played one game against a neighbour and we managed 1000 pts in 80 minutes after each having read the rules once, so it plays pretty quick.

I wish I could avoid it

2500 is what they mention in the rules. The second game I did was at 2000.
