Undead Assyrians 28mm (Does anyone do them?)
« on: June 10, 2020, 07:50:17 PM »
Like the title says, 'Does anyone do them?'

I mean we have:-
Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Vikings, Medieval, Conquistadors, Aztecs, WW2 & Modern.
But I can not find Assyrians.

Are there any myths involving the undead Assyrians?

Undead Romans? Who makes them? I recall seeing figures a long time ago but not the manufacturer.
Cheers,

Maybe just use skeletons with spears and shields?  Not sure any existing zombies would be close enough even with head swaps.  I don't remember ever seeing biblical undead.

Poiter50, there was some Zvezda undead romans plastic kit, not sure if it's still produced

I don't know anything about undead assyrians, but If by undead You mean skeletons, are there any distinct assyrian features that would survive decomposition? Ragged clothes are mostly ragged beyond recognition, hairdress won't survive on skeletons, arms and armour are mostly spears and bows, and those types are common in skeleton miniatures. Probably only chariots are missing, but those could be achieved by replacing horses and crew from historical miniatures with skeletal ones.

Thanks for the input guys, but not what I was hoping for.
Yes I could stick Assyrian shields onto some skellies, but I
was thinking more like Lord of the Rings Grey Company.
Yes decomposing, yet recognisable.

Zvezda did do Romans, very hard to find now-a-days, but here on LAF
there is (now) a thread from some-one who is working on Undead Romans.

I don't recall that many myths involving undead:- ACW, Teracotta warriors,
Nazi Stormtroopers, Spacemen etc. etc. Yet that is not/has not proved a block to production.

Always thought skelly chariots look silly. Walt Disney had the theory of the
plausible impossible. e.g. cartoon character CAN run across thin air, but as soon
as he realises what he is doing he MUST fall.  I have to believe the undead, & this
is harder with things like chariots. Doesn't mean it can't be done, & done well.

If you happy with a slightly decomposing  look, maybe modifying existing figures with some green stuff sculpted rips/damage and an undead paint job would work?

Yeah, I could try that, but I was hoping there might be some already out there.

I think  Black Cat Bases still do undead Romans . Then there's the Dead Through Time  range from Studio Miniatures  that covers ;Greeks ,Persians ,Vikings and Anglo Saxons  ,and they're working on Roman's now .
