More tweaks and more play tests. So bit of a longer one.

Two very different games again. One to warm up then one serious game.
First game yielded 2 salvage markers from the first search then three more before the team escaped. Spiders arrived in the compound in
nice manageable chunks and steady progress was made.

2nd game very different. Much harder. Got stuck on the wrong side of the fence for eight turns due to some truly dire salvage roles and two random spawnings both within 3 inches. Every marker was rolled as 1 or 2 spiders, no salvage and the spiders forever ceasing the initiative.

When the Muleskinners finally made it to the compound they'd lost Whistler apparently a chain link fence is not an adequate spit guard when facing inter dimensional spiders.
The last two markers yielded two more spiders and the first salvage of the game horrah!

After everything they went through they simply had to SEARCH in a effort to gain something from the mission.
Guess what...three more spiders but two more salvage markers.
The extra smg and some grace saving wounding rolls cleared the board apart from one spider which they managed to outrun...I mean retreat from.

Downtime saw Whistler sitting out the next mission, rolling 'i think it's busted' on the survival table and the team having no med kit to treat her with. Scored a bit of ammo and some snares so we won't be going hungry next time.
A few improvement rolls all round and that's a wrap.
So
1)don't roll a 1 on random spawning they literally drop out of the tree onto your head
2)bullet proof vests rock. Really helped Barnes in his three turn death match in the middle of the table
3) need to make decisions about spawning
4) shooting needs tweaking again. Might be too deadly will have to have a think

Apart from that good show all round getting used to my own rules game moves quickly but it's not a stroll in the park
Lots to think about for next time
Leave you with some eye candy

Cheers all

Another day and finally another playtest.
Spent the last few days writing and refining. New set up rules, toned down the shooting, New armour rules etc so nice to actually play the damn thing :)

Used a scenario I originally wrote for frostgrave it ported over nicely with just changes to the stats.

Village of the Damned...tentacles.

So leaving Whistler to recover our three remaining heroes push on into the compound looking for shopping opportunities.
As they break through the trees they find no science facility in evidence only an old crumbling village deserted and covered in a heavy unusual scent. Sector 12 is full of such isolated pockets of reality settling back into this world after the apocalypse. It's seems stable enough and they move in to check it out.

Four salvage markers generated in set up so hopefully it would be enough. Searching is now dangerous as it can attract attention. Barnes revealed the first as salvage and was about to move in when a huge tentacle burst from the ground. Yeearrgh!

Things went okay for three turns or so, managed to avoid hand to hand with the now three tentacles, shooting them pinned them in place keeping them active and so unable to spontaneously relocate.

Things didn't stay that way...Richard's smg picked up a flutter and jammed twice, Barnes grabbed two salvage markers and wasted another tentacle while Hitch went toe to toe with one that relocated right in front of him. Barnes blasted it in two with a broad side from his shotgun and Richards decided a search was in order. Wrong.  Rolling max actions equals random spawning and suddenly there were four more tentacles to deal with.
One then relocated right in the middle of their group, everyone took damage, two jams, a round of combat and Hitch was down. Enough was enough Barnes and Richards, both their weapons still jammed beat a fighting retreat off the table and ended the game with the tentacles owning the table.

Rules are holding up well, fluid and challenging, didn't see anything this time that needed changing so roll on the next play test.

Leave you with some shots from the game

Cheers all
