Early Byzantines, new unit WIP LADG - Aventine (11/4/2020)

I have painted another unit for the Early Byzantines and had a go at another shield design. Steve at LBMS is fully committed for the next while and has no time to do new designs at present. We have now made a shield that will take some existing designs and will offer both transfers and shield soon.







Adam has the unarmoured infantry done and is currently assembling the production figures for the moulds next week.

I love the early Byzantine period.  They have all the coolness of the dark ages but they dress the same so you get a uniform force.

Lovely painting and lovely figures, Keith.  I don’t know why , but as soon as I saw these I immediately thought Post Roman British . I’ve always fancied doing the forces for Bernard Cornwell’s  Arthurian Trilogy .

Adam dropped off the archers this morning. I now have the commands and archers in unarmoured form but with the amount of orders sitting here it will be next week before I list them in the store.
