Who's got quesitons for Heresy Miniatures?
« on: July 26, 2009, 08:09:52 PM »
The talented Andy Foster of Heresy Miniatures has graciously consented to be my next interview subject. As I did last time, I'd like to solicit interview questions from the community. I can't promise all of them will be asked or answered, but here's your chance to throw a query or two in the hopper. Deadline in 12pm EST on Friday, July 31st. Now let's hear those questions! [braces self]

For examples of past questions, check out my previous interview with John Hamilton of Studio Miniatures.

Are we likely to see them expanding their fantastic Sci fi range? If so what are we likely to see?

If you go on the Forum of Doom all this and more will be revealed!

Loved the new ganger releases!  Any plans for future themed (same style/gang) ganger releases?

seems a bit odd to do this when you can go on the FOD and ask all that you want of him...

Yep...regular FoDders already know fairly well, what's going on. Most FoD companies have their channels to inform about new and coming releases. We've also seen plenty of greens, sculpting tools and stories about casting machines.

For some slightly less known bits, I'd like to hear a word or two about customers' buying habits. Are there hardcore fans who buy everything (more or less literally)? Is there some range that's always popular? Do new releases sell mostly when they're fresh or do people keep discovering old items? Are there some intriguing differences between direct online sales, trade accounts, conventions etc.? Has some specific mini/range been surprisingly popular or unpopular, completely against the expectations?

I'd find this kind of stuff more interesting for permanent interview articles. Daily news you can get on Twitter, FoD or Heresy front page, after all.

Ditto on this. I want more minis for my Dark Heresy games!

Thanks!

True enough, assuming that you know that Andy, Heresy, and the FOD all exist. One of my objectives in writing these interviews is to spotlight the smaller makers that may be unknown to a lot of prospective customers. I'm hoping that more exposure = more sales for them.

@Dolmot I think your point is well taken. I'm as interested in Heresy's future plans as much as anyone, but any forward-looking info will soon enough become historical info. Your questions are the type that I'm interested myself, along with personal background, influences, and suchlike biographical stuff.

Well, I do get about 5000 hits a month, so clearly at least few people know of my site's existence. I don't claim to be Time magazine or anything, but I'm cheered by the continued growth of my readership and hope to keep expanding by adding articles like this interview.

I know what you're trying to do and it's admirable, but it's not been that current matey, the reviews have been of generally order figures for example.

Not knocking the concept, just the execution. And remember that most of us do do a bit of wandering on the old tinterweb,(otherwise how would we have found all these wonderful toys!

So here's my challenge... grab a really good scoop, get some new releases or get some insider knowledge, that'll really help what you're doing no end.

Opinion given without malice or contempt, so don't take it that way. ;)

Cheers

The Commander
