If the guys are looking, it does help a lot knowing when such happen as it makes it sooo much easier to check the system logs having an actual time value and zone to work from.
504 errors can be the server, the network or you the client.
Database error, usually the site/system but may even be intermediary systems trying to speed up content delivery (eg CDN hosting services)
However early hours like that is usually when I run some regular system maintenance stuff on our systems, LAF server may be similar - backups, site replication, audits and cleanups, so it might just be the server is busy doing other stuff than content delivery for a few minutes, and unable to respond to requests. you tend to want to have them happen during low usage periods, which is hard on systems that have globally distributed users.
If its an issue/fault they can be tricky to track down unless you know your systems and sites configuration well enough to direct the response to the right cause, eg prove it off your own network first, before handing it to service provider or something else, if you can.
I guess for LAF forum which is great but basically provided as such for free (thanks as always guys) short outages of minutes, no big deal?
If it is something you get a lot, try checking with one of the up/down sites like
https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/or
https://www.isitdownrightnow.com/There are others, that's just what googlefoo spat out top of search
It might give a better indication if its affecting just you or others to, and ease some frustration.
I tend to access the site at some odd hours for break and mind relax, during long night work sessions, the distraction helps a lot. But do sometimes get errors, timeouts on occasion but they clear usually with a simple refresh, I would be mortified to say the least if it was down for longer
