They do look rather splendid  :)

I love the coat of arms. It's always worth spending some time getting them right  8)

And they look great. What color is that Green? And what company make it?

Its two tones of foundry colours Forest Green 26a and Bright Green 25A.

Thanks and I agree with you regarding the cot of arms.  It and the flags and standards makes the units pop.

"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Nice painting, I especially like the Tudors.  I did them when we did the WotR as club project.   :D

Thank you.

Here are some mounted troops which I intend to expand on later for a mounted contingent for the battle of Blore Heath.

I'm not sure they were used except for perhaps jousting but they look great. I think I got the idea from your WotR Cavalry thread.  :D :D

Actually the striping was relatively simply. All I did was paint the base colour, then add a very slim piece of masking tape in a spiral and painted the second colour. Remove the masking tape once the second colour is dry and voila!!

Thanks Giles.

I have been painting up a couple of minor nobles who will form the Well Wishers - local knights and minor lords who supported the main protaganists when called upon.

The first is Sir John Grey of Groby.  His claim to fame was that he fell at the Second Battle of St Albans, leaving behind a widow, Elizabeth nee Woodville, who later married Edward IV. Perry figures both plastic and metal, heraldry on John Grey by Dez and flags by Freezywater.

The second is a bit of poetic licence - Sir William Bourne - my namesake.  He is of course a fictitious character, with his heraldic banner based on a later coat of arms. Perry metal and plastics, flag shopped up on powerpoint.

I have a number of these planned including John Beaumont, Thomas Grey, Ralph Greystoke, John Scudamore, Edmund Grey, Lionel Welles, Ranulph Dacre and Lord Roos.

Wonderful as always, and great freehand.
Now what is this whole life of mortals but a sort of comedy, in which the various actors, disguised by various costumes and masks, walk on and play each one his part, until the manager waves them off the stage?

Thanks guys but I must stress the detailed heraldry on Sir John Grey is not my work but painted by Dez.

I would gladly take you up on that espcially since I now have more time on my hands since retiring.

Lovely additions to the collection Gary  :)
