I do like the H&A buildings. Those have turned out beautifully Gary. It’s a shame they’re so hard to get hold of this side of the Atlantic, without getting clobbered for customs and import duties. They’re also a little on the diminutive side compared with many modern ‘large 28mm’ figures, although seem a good match with the Perry ranges.

Thanks and I agree with you about the size but I think they work perfectly as stand alone pieces within a large battle scene, as Darren says above.

I can see how the size would be a problem in a skirmish game, of which you certainly excel Richard. I think it's the opposite problem we have  for larger battles, where you want high quality buildings with a smaller "footprint".

Agreed about the footprint.

As for availability I wonder if Vatican Enterprises would consider a UK stockist.  Perhaps I might be tempted to approach them and see what they say.

I finished off a small tithe barn.   Building is again from Hudson and Allen and I decided to be a little more adventurous in my colour scheme.

Beautiful Gary. The pink works a treat. Ox-blood in the render no doubt. I believe that’s what accounted for the distinctive pink in some medieval buildings. Although I could be wrong lol
(I bet our mutual friend, Harvey, would know... ;))

I didn't know about the ox-blood pigmentation but nice to know that my colour scheme has some basis of historical accuracy.  lol lol

Perfect!

Thank you.

I have one more pair of buildings on the painting table, which hopefully will be completed tomorrow and then I'll turn my attention to some scatter terrain - carts, haystacks etc.

Then I must take some action shots of all the units together.

The final pair of buildings are a cottage and stone barn with a small garden.

I might add a small tree and perhaps some gardening implements once they arrive but reasonably happy with how it turned out.

Beautiful buildings. I like the 'adventurous' color on the earlier post :)
