The Undergound used to suffer from a serious lack of investment and in the 80's wasn't much fun using. Some stations hadn't been updated since the 30's and I remember seeing these roundels on the Northern Line which was an outdated s**thole of a line.

Oh, yeah.  Get on at Chalk Farm with a white shirt; get off at Charing Cross with a grey one!  All that Victorian soot ...

As a country bumpkin I've always liked going the Underground, as it so different to life here in the Shire, and quite the novelty. But not when it is busy. I had the unhappy experience of travelling on it at peak time on my way to GLAM this year.

It made me want to go on a machine gun and machete rampage. I had to drink a whole bottle of quite expensive Chardonnay to restore my equilibrium.

I thought of getting a tunnel. I'd buy that. The werewolf scene made me laugh hard.

Fantastic! That's good enough for film making.

The whole Tube network is outdated  ::) And that goes for the attitude of rather a large amount of the staff who work there.

I like the London tube but I've never had to use it during busy hours. While longer the tunnels are wee like badger holes in comparison with the echoing mamuth caves-cum-art museums which were bored through the granite when the Stockholm Tunnelbana was constructed so I am not surprised there's a constant congestion. Stockholm doesn't suffer from that but from the Laurel and Hardy Electrical Company being in charge of the wiring.

It's not fun when the species known as 'The Suit' use it and HAVE to be first on or off, or fist though the ticket gate etc etc, even though the f**kers are way at the back  ::)

Good news indeed, however... Michi, now get on it and make us a Berlin U-bahn piece, so we can do some good WWII wargaming! :)
