An Encounter with the Maroons - Sugar Islands SYW
« on: April 09, 2020, 07:06:44 AM »
Hi folks,

To help lift your lockdown blues I have a free scenario involving Maroons, British And French and set on the island of Guadeloupe during the SYW.

I played it using the Rebels and Patriots, but with a little tweak hear and there is would suit your preferred set and could be used for the AWI or Napoleonic Period too.

Have fun.

Stuart, sharp looking (free scenario) format, and just ordered my book from Crann Terra, as I have figs that can be pressed into playing these scenarios (using them double duty is always a good thing).

Thanks for bringing your book to our attention!

Thanks.

As with any of the scenarios in the book the important thing is to get a game in and having fun, especially right now.

You could use WSS, WAS, SYW,  AWI or even Napoleonic figs for a similar game or campaign and likewise for the Maroons, Trent, Perry and Foundry produce suitable figs.

You'll find all you need about the real campaign in the book and there's a list of manufacturers too.

Crann Tara have the Book and I have some stock myself too.

Hi Stuart,

was this the game you were running at Targe last year? If so, I thought it was a cracking looking setup, lovely miniatures, and a shame it was tucked away in the back room.

Hi, no this is a completely different scenario.

This one involves British patrol and a French patrol bumping into each other and a Maroon village with the Maroons then diving to see if they join either side of fight their way clear.

The game at Kirriemuir from 2 year ago now was the British attack on the plantation belomging to Madame Ducharmy, a Frenchwoman who fought alongside her plantation workers to stop the British from taking it as they extended their control over Guadeloupe.

That scenario is in the Book

Some pics from the game below

Your latest scenario has encouraged me to order some more 3D printed Caribbean Shacks from our local 3D Printing company. I already had one but this one will not have stilts that the original came with.
Cheers,

Glad you've been inspired. It would be nice to see them when they're ready.
