Web apps for solo/coop miniatures games
« on: April 09, 2020, 02:01:34 PM »
Folks:

We just launched a new site with some web apps for running tabletop miniatures games, called "Application of Force". The apps we have released so far are designed for solo and cooperative play - we had not planned to launch the site so soon, but we all got stuck at home by the pandemic.

There are two games of interest:

Viktoria! - this is a Victorian sci-fi game which can also be used for historical battles for anything from the Franco-Prussian War to the early part of WWI. It does small units actions, with rules for flying machines, walkers, etc. It does both solo/coop play and normal competitive games.

The Other Side of the Hill - This is a Napoleonic skirmish game for doing Sharpe's Rifles-type Peninsular adventures. It is strictly a coop/solo game. (You can see a write-up of a demo game on the site.)

We also have a game for playing with Traditional 54mm toy soldiers (With the Colours in the Late War) and a multi-player die-roller, so that when you are playing games with a web-cam and conferencing software, players can see each other's rolls. (It helps to stop cheating!)

Membership is free until the start of May, using the promo code "Quarantine2020".

We have plans to release more games in the near future, on historical and other topics.

You can find the site at:

http://applicationofforce.com

Check it out!

Cheers,

A. Gregory
