Cheers Little Odo and Grumpy Gnome.

Herewith, a miniature I made from scratch - did however use a Mantic hand and crow.

Inspired by https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=135801.15;topicseen

I am rather pleased with the result, the first proper attempt at making my own miniature from mostly scratch. I wanted some interest on his base so also did an old wooden post from balsa. He still needs painting and some more base work.

Excellent effort for your first attempt.
I stick to aliens. No-one complains if
the Zhack-Toven ambassador has two
heads & five arms.  :D

By the way, thanks to you I am now in possession of
my own 'Haunter in the Dark' He/she/it(?) has joined
the resin mound until i can decide on a paint scheme.
As yours is black, & you did such a nice job on it, I
feel it will have to be something else. :?

I eagerly await to see your 'Haunter in the Dark' - hopefully, it does not give you too many nightmares...

Looking at my Haunter again, mine came attached to its base, the miniature has bits dangling underneath it, which one could add blobs of venom to or some such... seeping out of it - which could make it even that more disgusting and horrifying.

Whilst it appears overall black I did add loads of shading of blues, purples, browns, reds and greens etc. before doing the overall black - providing a depth and range of black therefore which one can hardly discern in the pictures but in good light and in person add a depth of shades to this shadowy visage.

Yes, I thought a worn scarecrow would provide sufficient leeway for any mistakes.  So seems to have paid off. Maybe I should try an alien next...

For some reason, I feel nervous painting said scarecrow - maybe because that will cover up my work.  lol

There was a film (Dr Syn, Alias The Scarecrow)
starring Patrick McGoohan as a smuggling parson.
Might give you some ideas as to colours/scenarios.

Could be either - the miniature has bags of character. Great job on your first sculpt.

In the film & in pure frustration a shot is fired at the
scarecrow in the distance, only it ends up wounding
Dr Syn (who was 'hiding' as a scarecrow) so...

Could be either -
& at the same time.  :o

Cheers Odo and Has Been.

Herewith, the start of my snow and ice fantasy miniatures. So, yes ideal for the likes of Frostgrave, but in actuality miniatures, I have been planning to put into the snow for many years.

Thought I would finally get round to it... Let's start with the arch villain herself, my ice queen, in my world, Argon she is a true vampire, who can walk in the light. This is the old GW Dark elf miniature. Somehow she looks even more malevolent in light colours. I have also made her a wall of ice spell effect - a useful defensive measure. The ice wall is made from clear plastic card covered in glue gun with snow flock and crushed glass.

Well, an Ice Queen needs an Ice Demon. So here he is. The miniature originally had an extended head with horns attached - which I disliked, I, therefore, cut the head down to size and separated the horns.

An Ice Queen can always do with a dragon - classic miniature, in more ways than one, I probably painted this more than 14 years ago, gosh it has taken me a while to get this project going...  lol

Herewith, a giant and he is normally on the side of my barbarians. So e first of the Ice Queen's enemies, but perhaps she has ways to gain control of such creatures...

Cheers Has Been. With the warmer weather in the UK it somehow feels less appropriate to do Icy North type miniatures, but given the natural sunlight easier to photograph.

Herewith, some wizard/spell casting sorts.

Herewith, some animals. The bear, snow leopard, wolf, and chap mounted on yak all came from the same set I found cheap on eBay. The sabre tooth is a metal miniature.
