Now Captain Faversham, fresh from Blighty with elements of 1st Parachute Brigade, has come to bring a bit of tone to the vulgar brawl!

Well, today's been a funny old day in the New Emporium by the Seaside. For the first time since 1970 I've glued together a 1:48 scale armoured vehicle and thoroughly enjoyed it!
A very impressive Rubicon SdKfz 222 armoured car, it's gone together like a dream and is ready for priming and painting. This will give the Germans a bit of punch in their next encounter with the Desrt Rats.

My admiration for this little Rubicon model has gone up a notch as the paint's going on. I thought I detected a flaw in the wheel's casting, a definite flat bit, then I realised it was on all four. You can only put the wheels on one way and the flat bit goes to the bottom...
back in the seventies, any modeler who turned up at our local IPMS meeting, with a truck's tyres sanded down a tad on the bottom was immediately elected a modelling superstar and given a medal!
Even I can't bugger this little toy up, it's almost creating itself.

I've got a well doody little DAK runaround to play with in spite of my crap modelling skills. Now all I have to do is entice the little bastard into range of B Company's Boys gunner.

Last time I glued one of these together it was Airfix from the dawn of time. I'd forgotten how much bigger 1:48 was...
