No.1 Squadron RAF (Battle of France)
« on: December 01, 2022, 08:00:35 AM »
I guess most people interested in the Battle of France or WW2 air games will have read "Fighter Pilot" by Paul Richey of No.1 Squadron, RAF, originally published anonymously in 1941 and reprinted many times since. Having read the book again some time ago, I did some digging around to find out more about the various characters mentioned and have put all the photos (including some lovely colourised ones) on my blog:

NCO Pilots:

I'm thinking that it makes a good start for a historical air campaign for "Bag the Hun" or similar. Any more info on "No.1" in 1940 or any of the pilots mentioned much appreciated.
