Looks pretty good- i popped over to Nat. Geo's site and it's not available in the UK- at least not on the net

I’m sure it’ll pop up on one or other UK streaming platform soon enough. Looks extremely good. Got to be better than Jamestown, which turned out to be more of a soap opera than anything else... ah well.

Don't forget this starts Monday.The first two episodes airs.At least here in the states anyway.

The show is based on the Annie Proulx novel of the same name. She's a respected author, best known for "The Shipping News".
I've read "Barkskins", and the series appears to be based only on the first part, as the book goes to the present. I like the book.
So, the source material is sound, but it does not guarantee a good TV series, as the movie version of The Shipping News did not live up to the book (although I still liked it).
I'll watch, because I'm a sucker for any show with an historical setting.

Besides, unlike so many US shows, its set in FRENCH Canada.

First review I read about it was not high on it.
It said that it was pretty been there done that.
With that said I still intend to watch it and make up
my own mind.

I watched it tonight. It was okay. Not bad but not great either.
I will keep watching it. Do not understand the love affair that
shows have today of filming all the action scenes at night so you
can't figure out what is going on!
