Um, dunno. Not to my knowledge, unless the boys Down Under are in the habit of referring to off-spinners as self-propelled guns (I think that would be more apt for a pace bowler).  But then you know how memes and such can mutate, and being many thousands of miles from Australia I'm not exactly near the epicentre of it.  :)

‘Twas Gary; Tank Commander I was thinking of.

Cracking recent work all!

Our Garry commands no tanks, other than the water tanks he had the run of when he was a groundsman.  ;) No cricket references then, which is a shame (so I won't make any reference to the launch of SW23) but am looking forward to the first net session of the season tomorrow.

Anyway, enjoying the 'slow burn' aspect to this painting club and getting back into painting a bit now the weather has warmed up and it's staying lighter for longer in the afternoon - roll on daylight savings!

135. Doriam Hawkmoon, Duke of Koln  (Eureka Miniatures)

And here's a side shot showing his shield with its subtle reference to his name:

Nice! Funnily enough Muz., I’ve recently painted a Karmargue cavalrymen from Eureka!
And I live in Goulburn...

Cool - maybe take a snap and post him to the thread, they're really characterful miniatures, aren't they?

I'm just down the road in the Bush Capital. I'd say maybe we could catch up at Cancon but that's been cancelled for 2021...  :(

#136: Storm Giant

He's a 3D resin print - and I swear the sculptor was trying to make Gandalf have the body of Kevin Sorbo.

Nice entries. I've not seen that Hawkmoon figure before, I really like the style and the paintjob has brought that out  nicely.

I can see exactly what you mean with steroid Gandalf!

Noice, Muzfish!

Bah! I say more cricket references, until the rest of LAF are so sick of them that they kick the pair of us out.

Of course, being southern hemisphere your season is just getting going, forgot about that. Ours is just about winding down. We aren't usually still playing in October up here, but the Covid delayed everything. It's the county T20 finals this weekend, but the forecast is so bad it may well be decided by a bowl-off against a single stump. Not exactly the most riveting form of cricket. Don't think it will replace T20 as the short form of the game just yet.

I'd like to see French cricket tried out as the new razzmatazz TV version of the sport for people with short attention spans like me. Can you have a word with whoever is in charge of the Big Bash about that for me?

Loving Gandalf Sorbo! lol

(so I won't make any reference to the launch of SW23)

I just googled that. I had no idea. Truth is indeed stranger than fiction. I hope it is available here, I have been looking for something to replace the Peter Andre cologne that I usually wear.  lol

137. Cockatrice from Massive Darkness, though I seem to recall they reference to it as a cockatrix?

Not the easiest thing to paint as it's quite 'flat' in a lot of respects.

As in "what do you get if you cross a cock and a dominatrix?"  :)

Nice job on a nice model.
