Looking for a "Dead Man" Model
« on: July 31, 2009, 10:03:37 AM »
Hello,

I am looking for a suitable mini to use as the "Dead Man"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dead_Man

I thought that given the wealth of Western minis available one was bound to be suitable with a little conversion. Ideally the figure would be on the larger side of 28mm as Judge Dredd / the Dead Man it a large and imposing man.

Can anyone suggest any suitable minis? I am not at all familiar with this area so would be grateful for any help anyone could offer.

Thanks

What about Black Scorpion, second from the right:

I am not familiar with "The Dead Man".

TT.

How about this chap form the Iron Kingdoms range. I have him in my lead pile the only draw backs are a sword on his back and his boots look a little garden gnomish

If he's supposed to be disfigured, how about getting a normal western mini and add one of west winds zombie heads and paint it as if it's severely scarred/burnt?

Hello,

I think the "problem" I have had finding a proxy for the dead man is that so many of the western minis I have seen are very accomplished sculpts and from the artwork he is a rather plain looking character, he really just needs a long duster and fairly circular brimmed hat and ideally a rifle., all fairly plain. His face could easily be roughed up with a bit of green stuff as he is mean to have been burnt by acid.

It is odd to be in a situation where I am actually looking for a more subdued plainer model!

Thanks for the help so far, it is much appreciated.

I've got a Rezolution figure for the exact purpose...best one I could find. Not sure of the name, he is in a duster, looks old and wrinkly and even has handcuffs off his belt...pretty close to the look imho.
Sorry i can't be of more help...
