Lovely stuff once again!  Particularly the III./Garde!  :-*

Re the Horse Grenadiers: It might have been someone else!  lol  There was a discussion here about two years ago, when someone commented that they couldn't find Old Glory Horse Grenadiers.  I thought it was you, but it probably wasn't!  lol

Reichsarmee Kurpfalz Cuirassiers

Reichsarmee Ernestinisch Sachsen: Sachsen-Coburg-Meiningen, Sachsen-Hildburghausen, Sachsen-Altenburg
A battalion made by various smaller contingents.
The only unit in my collection with four (!) flags and various uniforms in the same unit
Also here I am proud that Kronoskaf has published my tentative reconstruction of these flags, made according to the existing descriptions

Those are all some very nice looking figures.  Well done!

An excellent thread, Dinos. Do you have any favourite uniform books for this period which you could recommend ?

An excellent thread, Dinos. Do you have any favourite uniform books for this period which you could recommend ?

Hi dear colleague!

"Armies of the seven Years War by Digby Smith" is my only book I own. I had a few Osprey books for SYW, sold long ago.
I admit that my library is poor in SYW bibliography, so that, personally, I have not any other to recommend.

My main source, for many years now, for both SYW and WSS is the excellent site of Kronoskaf
http://kronoskaf.com/syw/index.php?title=Main_Page
I could find anything I seek: Uniforms, regimental history, battles, sieges and more.
So full with information, constantly updated, that I did not seek any book further.

The sources of the flags you see for my units come from Kronoskaf and from the Not By Appointment blog
https://nba-sywtemplates.blogspot.com/
Many flags, uniforms and regimental history in brief. Recommended!

Also very useful is the blog "Painting Wargames Figures"
http://nigbilpainter.blogspot.com/

Last but not least, how should I not recommend the blog of our Jemima Fawr
http://www.jemimafawr.co.uk/
who is using very accurate sources for the uniforms he is painting. Outstanding!

That's very kind of you!

It's just a shame I didn't use them more when painting the figures...  ::)

(For the uninitiated, my blog consists mostly of a record of where I got things wrong and what I SHOULD have painted...)  :D

The Ospreys for the period are mostly pretty good and you COULD spend a fortune on the four-volume boxed set on the Prussian Army by Bleckwenn or the vast range of excellent books by Stephen Summerfield, but as  Dino says, Kronoskaf has pretty much everything you might need for free, barring a few details.

I would also recommend Frederic Aubert's excellent uniform plates, especially with regard to the Reichsarmee, where he's covered a lot of the gaps and corrected a few of the mistakes in Kronoskaf.  He's also just started doing flag sheets (supplied as pdfs that you have to print yourself):

Oh and I thoroughly second the recommendation for the Not By Appointment blog, which is a superb source of downloadable flags and uniform information.

Thank you so much for your timely reply, providing additional information!
For sure, you are the man one would like to consult for the period and the posts on your blog are a source of inspiration!
Cheers!

I would like to add that Frédéric Aubert is one of the main contributors for uniforms to Kronoskaf, examples of his serious works with the Wurttemberg uniforms here

I'm not sure this thread is decent, painting this many figures to this level of quality in the amount of time taken just seems wrong somehow.

How dare you, I say!  It just ins't done.  One takes decades to do such work.  And this thread isn't even three years old yet.  Shame on you.

And if you are sufficiently embarrassed I'm sure I could offer a pitiful sum to take over this collection to avoid it getting any worse.   ;) :D ;D lol o_o

Some fantastic looking troops here. I love that all of your shots have great looking backgrounds too.
Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

Thank you!
The last years I am not painting any more. All these are commission works of three different friends.
I have a strong feeling that for the near future this collection will get much worser  lol
