Thanks :)
I received the Mirliton miniatures, then I finally will begin to paint them. Here Cesare Borgia on foot.
He will lead his group of reinassance (1507-1530) italian "Conquistatori" (Conquistadores) to pulp adventures in Central America.
Next I will paint a reinassance halberdier, arquebusier and crossbowman.

Lovely brushwork!

How do you manage your off-white colours, like on the cardinal's mask, and Cesare's boots/gloves? It looks great

Thanks :) Nothing of special just a base of citadel karak stone (cesare gloves) or tallarn sand (cardinal mask), washes of agrax earthshade, then several highlights of the same base color mixed with white until pure white and a final little light washes of agrax earthshade just where needed.

Absolutely gorgeous! (figata!).

I'm sloooowly doing a similar renaissance/fantasy project, just a little bit later period (second half of the XVI century), and italian themed, but it's a really fun thing  :)

More minions for Cesare Borgia: a Falconetto cannon with artillery crew, another alberdier, arquibusier and crossbowman.

The "Conquistatori" are growing, he a group shot. Next I will paint Cesare Borgia on Raptor.

I painted Cesare Borgia on a "Dragone" (Dragon). I painted his mask with a jade paint scheme as it was a maya jade mask.

A maya jade mask

I was not satisfied about the gold mask of Cesare on foot, then I repainted it ispired by the venetian mask "moretta" as I yet did with the cardinal's mak, ispired by the venetian mask "Bauta".

Here a picture of the venetian mask "moretta"

Here a group shot with jungle background.

Taking into account that the Borgia family were Valencians (and thus "Spaniards", although they came from a different kingdom than Castille so they had no place in America, but who cares), that the Knights Hospitalier of Malta stablished a (short-lived) colony in the Caribbean, that the Pontifician States sent troops to fight in Ireland and that Cesare was literally a conqueror (I think Machiavelli hoped that he would at last unite Italy), your concept is quite credible. Keep it moving!

I really like this theme of Pulp adventures. A definite and colorful twist! Fits well with the Hernando de Soto research I am doing now, as well... lol

Next miniatures I will paint for borgia will be a drummer, standard bearer with borgia flag and another artillery crew.
Then the miniatures I bought for the "Conquistatori" should be all painted. Maybe I will like to include a "Michelotto" assassin character as the sidekick of borgia.
I was considering for more adventurers/goons for my Palaeo Pulp games, the Knight Hospitallers were one of my options too as other Conquistadores (rivals of Borgia), of course.
