On July 14th my Friend Robert and I will be hosting an Arguing when… wargame participation game at The Joy of Six in Sheffield, UK. Robert has been busy painting a ton of Baccus6mm. Yesterday we had our first test. More at my blog at: https://tabletopmatrixwargames689972109.wordpress.com/2024/03/25/blog-44-gaugamela-331-bc/

the phalanx units with all their pikes really look the part...
Maybe you know of an academic project on Gaugamela carried out in the last years. In case you don't

Not really, but you could search around, in case you have not access to a university library. A common resource is academia.edu, where scholars use to upload their works. reference no. 4 is for example directly downloadable on the profile of one of the authors there. for articles not already available (publishing houses are becoming increasingly tighter on public sharing, especially for articles on journals), you can always contact the author and ask, normally academics do not make difficulties..

I have contemplated this as my next project in 6mm as well.  So great to see it all coming together!
