PALAEO DIET PULP Battle Report: To Kill a King
« on: May 30, 2020, 05:08:01 PM »
Today I played my first Solo game with the expansion of Palaeo Diet: Pulp.
The scenario is "To kill a king". The adventurers must kill the king carnivore and at least one member of the party must survive at the end of turn 12.

Year 1508, Somewhere in the Caribbean.
The governor of Hispaniola has taken much interest in the so-called Mysterious Lost Island of Dragons, newly discovered by an intrepid new Conquistador: Cesare Borgia. On his istructions, specimen of most of the larger creatures on the island have already been shot for taxidermy and exhibit. However, one notable beast remains unacquired; the king of the island, a mighty dragon. The party of Cesare Borgia have one morning left on the island before their ship must sail. There is time to go hunting one last time.

Overview of the board:

The great herbivore

The King Carnivore

The Raptors

The Adventurers/Hunter "Conquistatori" (italian word for Conquistadores) of Cesare Borgia

Cesare and his companions move cautiously and silently towards their prey.

Cesare lead with caution his companions and through gestures order them to be ready to attack

The hunting begin. The Arquebusier and Crossbowman aim to the Dragon and shoot, wounding him.
The furious Dragon charge the hunters, seriously injuring the Halberdier, now he is KO.

The Hunters continue to shoot to the wounded Dragon,  frightened by the sound of gunfire, he try to flee but one last shoot from the Arquebusier kill him.
Cesare: "The beast is ours! Do not let him flee!"

Cesare and his companions admire satisfied their trohpy.
Cesare: "Well done, men. The governor of Hispaniola will be pleased and will reward us properly."

Rather different.  Well done visually.  Love the skeleton in the waterway!

Great looking game.

I'm looking forward to trying it in a late XIX century lost world like context.

Just need to finish the five raptors.
It's never too late to have a happy childhood.

Love it!

I’ve always wanted to do a “Ponce de Leon” in a Lost World scenario.
