How long were tow cables?
« on: June 05, 2020, 10:09:01 PM »
Probably a stupid question - my google-fu is weak, but I am building some Rubicon Sherman kits (1/56) and they do the cable ends, and let you add your own string/thread or whatever for cables.

So I am wondering what the standard length of US Army & Marine tow cables would be. (Assuming there was a standard length) - at the moment it's M4A3E8, M4A2 and M4 Hybrid.

Thanks 'V'  1/56 = about 10.75 cm. now, for my next trick - get them to lie naturally..

I used 0.4mm brass wire on mine. I marked where the cable itself should end and drilled through the hull. I passed the ends of the cables through the hull and secured them inside. The wire was bent to match the contours of the hull.
