Big Starwars clicky things.
« on: March 17, 2021, 07:32:09 AM »
A offered to buy a big sack of old Starwars clicky things from a guy and he gave them to am along with a Slave 1 (Jango version) toy.

Anybody ever do anything with them?

I appear to have 16 Telosian tank droids, maybe 5 inches tall?

10 Viper droids, again 5 inches tall or so.

Both are pretty good sized, bigger than most 40K dreadnoughts.

5 hilariously flattened spider-droids like this only jumped up and down on by an angry cow. Maybe I can get them in some hot water rescue. Might be junk yard scenery though.

Three TIE crawlers. Which are beautifully silly. A truck with big panels blocking the peripheral views of the driver.

Three huge crab droids with front legs that have been bent a bit too much too often. Again maybe hot water will help. Not sure I need the front legs though.

four mustafarians on big weevil things.

And a blue partly die cast 1955 Ford Thunderbird that looks too big for 1/56 but is much smaller than 1/35 though it says it is 1/36.

I love the idea of turning junk and janky toys into armies and stuff. I know someone must have done something like this. I'm not thinking of using them for Starwars necessarily but just scavenging them into some thing or other in the tradition of lootaz modeling back in the day.

The Telosian tank droids remind me of the AT-43 firetoads somehow, only even jankier. I might make them the mainstay of my space Russians(either Dreamforge late WW2 russians painted in the wrong colors with big plastic guns swapped in or Kryomek Cyclos and Vor neo-sov radtroopers.)  to fight my incoming space whermacht with. Also might use some of my new collected skeleton robots with them.

The mustafarian bug things are "lava fleas".

I have an old MPC slave 1 kit that I use on my spaceport table sometimes, I'm not sure how that toy one scales to it.

This is the same toy next to a 3 3/4" action figure.

They all look eminently repaintable, especially the Tank and Viper droids. If they are anything like regular WOTC clickies they should come up a treat with a little mould-line scraping.

I agree about the TIE-crawler, that is a new level of geni-arse.  lol  Why does it appear to be crapping out a Lego?

All of the droids could easily get used in Gamma Wolves if you're thinking about playing that game.  Even the warped beat-up ones could be terrain (the game calls for quite a bit of it, preferably with a post-apoc scifi battlefield wreckage feel) or bashed into battered mecha frames.
