1st Corps Late Republican Roman Compatibly
« on: June 30, 2020, 04:51:35 AM »
I was wondering if the 1st Corps Late Roman Republican miniatures were compatible with Wargames Foundry, Wargames Factory and Warlord Games’ Caesarean Romans?

Hi, I don’t know the 1st Corps Republican Roman range but assuming they are the same size as the Imperial Roman range I would think they are quite small. From what I know they were sculpted to be compatible with the early Foundry ranges but are not compatible with the later ones ( eg anything sculpted by Steve Saleh). The Foundry Republican Romans were sculpted by Dave Gallagher and I don’t know where they fit in the growth from 25-28mm.

I always thought 1St corps are old school 25mm, I have the Foundry Perry EIR, and they don't look right together, 1st Corps are smaller and rather slim, you notice the big difference more with the shields, a foundry shield would look huge on a 1st Corps figure.

I would agree. I have added mixed 1st Corps Command figures with Foundry Legionaries and whilst OK height wise they look quite weedy by comparison. Your shield comment is 100% correct.

The problem with Foundry is that their ranges span the period when 25mm morphed to 28mm ( or even larger). Beautiful figures though!
