Straight-up and 100% GW. I agree though, especially on the Yhetees and stuff like the boars and so on I got very much of a Guild Ball vibe.

Excellent work, Sigur! One of my favourite games painted by one of my favourite painters.  :D

Oh, thanks very much. :) BB certainly is one of the if not THE strongest games GW put out (and improved on by the community). I'm really, really bad at it, but then I only ever played someone who I think spent all his years as a teen playing BB. :D But I see why it's such a beloved game.

Man these type of shots make me really sad none of my mates play the game.  :'(
I know we're supposed to look at the - admittedly great looking - Norse, but those old-school Orcs are a real show stealer. Love me some 90ies flames.  :o

Thanks for the lovely comments. :)

I got to paint another BB team again; this time it's Black Orcs, and - most amusingly - they're blue again! And they feature goblins, a troll and Varag Ghoul-Chewer.

Hope you like them!

They look great and are wonderful. I have to agree as well that although it has it's flaws (what does not) BB is stiil by far the best GW game out there.  It also has some very nice figs from GW and others for the game.

Looking great,  can't believe I missed this thread - When one of the best painters meets one of the best games the result is awesome.

@mellis1644: Thanks very much! I'm really bad at playing BB, but I acknowlege that it's easily among the top 3 GW games.

@HerbertTarkel: Cheers!

@jon_1066: Too kind, thanks muchly!

Just a tiny little bonus because I had the background and the trees out already:

It's got nothing to do with BB, but I don't think it warrants its own thread. Back in 1997, I travelled to the LGS (one hour back and forth each), wanted a beastmen shaman, they only had the one with the lowered axe. Oh well. But it always irked me that I never got the one with the raised axe. Two years ago around christmas I gave my old beastmen a very swift re-do, and somehow a friend of mine must have picked up on the sad story about the shaman. So this year, when we did a christmas miniatures exchange thing, he gifted me that shaman. A really good present. So I had to get the chap painted swiftly (because over christmas I always get this frantic "omg, I got time off of painting figures. Now I have to paint lots of my own stuff really fast!" panic) and took a funky picture. Frame is from my own copy of the Realm of Chaos (5th edition) book, with some photoshop tinkering. :P

Cheers! For almost a year now I got this weird idea of playing Warhammer. I mean virago made me play last April (5th edition), and I do love a proper warhammer like game. Doesn't have to be Warhammer rules, but there's some rules out there I find rather interesting. Originally I only repainted the Beastmen as antagonists for heroic fantasy skirmishing (because I own next to no fantasy orcs), but somehow the allure of that old Warhammer stuff is always there, so maybe I'll at some point will be able to field a Beastmen/Chaos army. And an undead army. Next to my Dark Elves, who see a game roughly every 10 years. :P
