Loving the pics and the progression of this board.

I'm just wondering what the game system is you're using and how it plays. I'm a 40k player only (played a little WFB a few years back) and haven't really branched out into other games. This zombie board and game set makes me think something along the lines of a handful of Imperial Guard fighting off waves of slow moving but tough Tyranid creatures.

Anyway, enjoying the updates as always

No much more meancing than that mate. (you'll find reference to the rules in the thread, they are a modified version of the Nightmare on Frothstreet rules created for Salute 09 with some enhancements by yours truely, simple, undercomplex, fast and bitey!

Some of my additional rules:

Enhanced rules for zombie spawning points.
Zombie 'moan'
Enhanced rules for 'fast' zombies.
New rules for dog zombies.
Survivors in combat
Wounded survivors: (turning).
Carrying wounded players.
Medical kits.
New shotgun rules (with the let him have it option).

Very nice fencing but it kind of upstages your buildings (mostly in this pic though ;))

I know we've been treated to some very nice non printed buildings of late but still think it works well together.

This is the one with the separate garage floor so probably not lined up perfectly in the shot.

Cheers

Can't say I agree with that. Those card buildings look splendid to me.

I was just thinking the same thing. I have previously not been a fan of printed buildings but these look very good.

Same here, though mostly because I enjoy scratchbuilding mine.  These seem to produce a good number of buildings in a comparatively short time (Quicker than embossing individual bricks anyway!)

In particular, this is a very atmospheric shot, aided by great odds'n'ends.

Great stuff Commander.  8)

Think a might set that one up again with just one zed behind the fence....spooky like.

With regards to time spent, I can only guess at the time that it's taken you to do your lovely scenery paul, I wish I had the time (or cash) to spend to that level, I'd love to have a game on it one day, the last stand at the Winchester Arms would be great! :D

On the subject of more detailed buildings I'll post up that shed/garage I made a few weeks ago out of a few odds and sods I had with me at my mate's were we we gaming.

Cheers all

I prefer "modifications" to "enhancements"... ;)

The original rules - AR:SE (Akula's Rules: Skirmish Edition) were really only meant for a large multiplayer demo game, so that a bunch of noobs could turn up, with no previous experience, and have a quick and bloody game, in an hour or so.

I'll be interested to see your mods though, when we meet up, as i'm working on a slightly more detailed set...called...erm..."FAT AR:SE", which will have some extra rules covering some of the things you mentioned, plus a few new zombie types, such as Tanks, while keeping the original fast and bloody game in mind.

 :D

Keep the photos coming though mate - love the fence, I think it goes well, with the rest of your excellent terrain - I haven't got the work i'd hoped done, on my own town this work, due to painting committments.

Oh, and bring your zombies with you!
