They are nice (ordered some)but once again the backpack is wrong :( :(. There were (Mollo notwithstanding) no tent rolls on the pack in 1914 !!!!

Yes I was suprised to see the tent rolls, Dave and Aly are usually pretty hot on these things, easily done though even the pictures in the Osprey show them on with an errata in the text!. Maybe there will be a pack of figures without this as well.

Hi Guys,

Was there any word about the issue with the bed rolls on the pack an if they are incorrect were there plans to correct this?

Helen
Best wishes,

Hi Helen,

This issue has been raised on TMP too, Dave usually posts there but has not responded to the comment yet.

The earliest I will see him will be at Partizan in September.

It will not deter me from buying though.

Update, quote from Dave A on TMP

We will be making versions without packs to keep everyone happy"

Hi Rob,

I saw your pics on your web site and the Belgians seemed to be very crisp miniatures. I've seen on three forums issues with quality of the Great War Miniatures in the way of additional flash and blobs of alloy around certain areas of the figure. I'm sure you may have come across this yourself. For the populace that I write this an ask if the issue of such is been fixed at the casting end?

Cheers,

Helen

Bahhh I just typed a lengthy reply and my session timed out- message lost  :o >:(

In a nutshell because its now late here, Great War models all seem to fine other than quite a bit of spare metal attached. This is caused by the mould maker cutting extra vents to ensure the metal flows freely. Sometimes you can get enough spare to start your own casting company  :D , I just wish it was the same alloy as we use!

I have never come across major "flash" issues with Great War minis, so I do wonder if sometimes posters are confusing the flash with the spare metal mentioned as it can be a bit annoying cutting it all off.

But as noted, the stock on the rack today at Northstar (GWM supplier) all looked good as I raided it to restock the scarab web store.

Hope that helps.

Helen/Rob
Its mainly the Late War Brits that have had problems, i have had a few that have been miscast (but nothing that could not be rectified with a knife & greenstuff) if any were too bad i got back intouch with nick at Northstar and he replaced them after getting a new mould made  :D

The last ones that i picked up at Partizan have been Ok though.
