We got together for another (much delayed) installment in our South West campaign, the Battle of Stoke Lane, this time played out doors and with online participants!

Surprised that manufacturers of metal miniatures aren't using "they're metal, and heavy - won't blow away if you put a game on in the garden" as a marketing strategy

Codsticker: Nice to see you and your gaming chums are enjoying the scenario books that I've written over the years. Another scenario book (Vol.5 ECW Scenarios) is in the pipeline, but held up due to the virus, so hopefully we'll see if it makes it to print by end of this year or so.

With the current temperature, here in Québec, I would be afraid that the figures would melt...

What puzzle me though is the fence surrounding the garden. Having some problems with the wildlife in your neighbourhood?

Yes, we really like them. Although we still have a fair way to go with the current book I look forward the next one!

Well, deer are a problem but they have some raspberries in there so the chicken wire goes over the top to stop birds from raiding the plants.

I think what you are seeing is a Bigleaf Maple (on the left in the background), native to the west coast of NA from the Alaskan Panhandle south to California. The deciduous tree directly behind the green awning  is not native to these parts, and I am not certain what it is (possibly an Acacia). The big trunk beside it is a Douglas Fir and the foliage intruding from the right is a cherry tree. I like trees too- I used to work both as a landscaper and a logger so I both planted trees and cut them down.
