A couple of Roman units…..more auxiliaries and some Western archers and an optio.  Brings the Roman forces thus far to…

Cheers fella!

Been a tad busy, but just time to do one bit of scenery….again, courtesy of having put a tonne and a half of slate in my garden!

Long barrow.

Just ordered more trees and some marsh pieces from last valley.   I only then need to figure a way to make suitable hills and that will be the landscaping sorted.

Funny, that does not look like a tonne & a half.
You've been diddled David!
 lol lol lol

Nice bit of scenery.

Given your proven ability to rip up place mats, may I suggest you
look to fibre-board &/or cork tiles for your hills?
It would give you a mixture of rough rocky out-crops & flat grassy bits.
Combine function (places to stand figures, the grassy bits) and looking nice
(the rocky out-crops). You could even make some small bases with trees &
bushes on, to place on the flat bits, e.g. 'before the ambush' setting.

after all that great work - I'd look at a fleece / fur mat or similar rather than the pvc print.
