Thanks guys for the kind comments

I finished Jerah Mormont; I thought I had a bear decal but alas not . Don't suppose anyone might be able to point to me a suitable bear decal?

Galahad- I have to say that the Rules have been revived my flagging interest in wargaming- they are a lot of fun: simple mechanisms, limited bookkeeping and  a fast paced game

To make Mormont stand out from the rest of the horse, I decided to paint the horse as an Appaloosa; first attempt. Simply copied and simplified the pattern from a photo

There's a good thread in the 'Ancients' section here on how to make your own George:

You're right, I looked at all the 'usual suspects' on the LBMS site and there doesn't seem to be one depicting a bear.... this is a bit of a surprise as I would have thought it to be the ultimate symbol of aggression fierceness and status on part of any 'Pagan' warrior's kit.

Dunno...

They look nice though.

I will say, I'm glad to see folks painting horses with asymmetrical markings on the legs. It is fairly rare, for example, to have a horse with all four legs sporting white socks. Black, is another thing. Lots of horses have black on all four legs.

That’s called a bay lol
Nice work there :)

Atheling the use of the bear as a heraldric device appears to be quite rare , Other than the Canton of Berne  i cannot think of any where else I have seen it used.  I did consider looking it up in one of the dusty tomes on heraldry which sit on a bookshelf but wikipedia came to the rescue
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bear_in_heraldry

Quite liked the Berlin design. Might look to pinch that .

Yeah, it's definitely the Canton Banner for Berne.

Why not use that? Now that i think about it there's a company called Wargames Designs who do banners (I don't know if they are transfers or just paper prints) with the advantage that you can buy them in 28, 15, 10 and 6mm. If they're not transfers you could always buy then trace out the banner design?

EDIT: Sorry George, I forgot the link:
https://www.wargamesdesigns.com/swiss.html

Let me know how you get on mate.

The penultimate Dothraki horseman.

I also finished the Khaalesi figure, but she turned out crap; pale skin and milk white hair. Looked like Elric in drag. A difficult figure to do as the depth of the face is very shallow.  I then have a the fat merchant friend of the Targaryen's to do and the project is finished and ready to take its place in the display cabinet

Atheling voila
Elric in drag, justg needs the crimson eyes
This figure went very wrong. Might strip the flesh and start again .  I have painted a few of the female figures in this range( Cersei, Sansa, Catalin)  and have struggled with the faces. Any thoughts on how to fix this ?

Bit late to the party but I must say I really like the paintjob on Jorah and his horse!

Good work DB, I think Jorah is my favourite, but they all look great as a horde.
