Glad to see the Jade Dragon and Mike's Books still being visited.   It's be nice to see The Game Grid again but alas it's not to period.   It'll be  another 50 years yet before that attraction gets built.  The war will hopefully be over by that time.

This last Friday we put on a (rather topical) game which involved rescuing a group of stranded Americans & other assorted good guys from 1933 Kabul.  The forces involved were a couple of units of US Marines, some French Foreign Legion and a unit of Japanese SNLF supported by a British Rolls Royce armored car against a mixed bag of whatever colonial Arab types Leadfool could could dig up.  The game began with an advance by the Marines supported by the armored car to clear the way for the civilians.  It was a tough fight for the outnumbered Marines who had to fend off a couple of suicide bomber attacks before they were finally able to link up with the Foreign Legion, the SNLF and the remainder of the Marines that were guarding the Aerodrome from a second force of bad guys.  It was a fun game - very cathartic.  Photos below.

Great pics.   I love the armored car.   Is it a kit or die-cast?
