It's a diecast.  I think the manufacturer is Matchbox.  It does'nt get to make many game appearances because I don't think Leadfool wants it to get messed up by being handled by grubby gamers (like us).

Matchbox vehicles of yesteryear

The Rolls Royce armored car has actually developed something of a collectable status.

Here are a few pics of our most recent (non campaign) game.  This one was a motorized column of the Polish Legion attempting to get a couple of high value communist prisoners (modelled on a couple of high profile Democratic Party politicians - who shall remain nameless) across the board.  The only road passed through a swamp and the Poles encountered a stoutly defended roadblock that blocked their path.  However, they reacted quickly and covered by machine gun fire managed to outflank the defenses and got the column off the board (although a communist sniper did manage to pick off one of the prisoners before she could be interrogated).

The tiny tank with the big gun is interesting. What is it…..?

It is an "antitank' version of the Polish TKS tankette fitted with a 20mm cannon.  It was actually used in the 1939 German invasion.

Interesting. Is your model an accurate scale - it looks so small compared to the other vehicles. How many crew…?

It actually belongs to my friend Leadfool and I believe it is 1/56 scale but I don't know the manufacturer.  Being a tankette it had a two man crew and probably not much room inside.

Thanks - it drew my eye because my first thought was “what is that 1/200 scale King Tiger doing in the middle of the column” (it was the gun size). A second look and I realised it was something else but intriguing.

I guess ACWII is very like VBCW and therefore “intriguing” is very much in the spirit of the game….

In the absence of much current interest in VBCW on this board, I’m finding your campaign filling the void. Than you.

The first time I went to Bovington Tank Museum & saw a
tankette 'in the flesh' my mate exclaimed, 'That's not a
tank, it's two upturned woks on a skateboard!'  lol lol lol

Doug  ex-em4,
I am glad you are enjoying this campaign.  we are as well.  All the battles are based upon Sacramento Valley locations.  The factions are local groups with poetic license.  The premise, which is not our original is the war that starts after the January 1933 assignation of FDR.

We are also using the campaign to test out some rules.  The man who would be warlord.  Our version of the man who would be king.

Here are a few pics of a game we did to test out some changes to our tank combat rules.  It pitted my heroic M3 Stuart against a multi turreted monstrosity owned by leadfool (I believe the model is a British Independent).  Unfortunately the dice were against me and the monstrosity prevailed.  Here are a series of photos - both posed and actual game shots to give you an idea of how it went.
