WarrenPeace....I made my map way more simple than that.  Everyone is assumed to know multiple ways to each territory.   You are correct that the outlying areas and the various roads could be plot lines themselves.   Other towns at the time include Bryce, and Brodrick and Jefferson (now west Sacramento),  Carmichael, Freeport, Florin and Franklin, Montecello which is now under Lake Berryessa.  Lodi, Herald, Knights landing, Yolo, Winters, Rio Linda and  North Highlands.
None of which are appearing in this program (Campaign).

I stuck to building that were there in 1932 and still exist today.  The purpose of capturing the building is that it will generate recourses which we equate to cash that then can be used to buy or upgrade troop quality  buy equipment etc.

The real purpose is to have games with figure on a table but have players react realistically for campaign purposes.  Most battles one player pulls out before the rules would required it.  They see the end comeing and do not want to lose troops needlessly.  If a unit escapes below half but with at least one figure, half the unit value is saved along with all upgrades, so the one figure is leaving with the light machine gun etc. on his shoulder.

Here is one of the more recent additions to our layout - a 1930's version of the K Street Mall (which did not exist at this time - but what the hell).

It looks like Mary's Books .....  the one with the Cigar Store In[AHEM] Indigenous Person is also into Esoterica of the day.   There's an I Ching symbol on the wall there.    Hopefully not a front for the Tongs!   It looks like a coin so nice touch there.

We have introduced two new territories the Sutterville Aerodrome and the Mather Field.
Holding of either allows the player to field airstrikes.

Here are a few pics of the world famous Sutterville International Airport (in reality it was known as the Sutterville Aerodrome and is currently the  Sacramento Executive Airport) and some passengers waiting to board a Lockheed Vega for a flight across the Pacific (hopefully the pilot isn't Amelia Earhart).  The (over-weathered) plane is actually a coin bank I picked up at local hobby store and the passengers are "O" scale train passengers purchased at a nearby train store.

This afternoon we had the most recent battle of our ACW 2 campaign - The Battle of Sloughhouse.  The scenario was that the leaders of three of the factions in our game - the Morslems, a coalition of stalinist & maoist communists and the dreaded Purple Gang were having a secret conclave in the nearby community of Sloughhouse to discuss the formation of a United Front.  Unfortunately for them the Steinberg detective agency had gotten wind of the meeting and notified a nearby USMC force.  This resulted in a serious drubbing of the United Front.  Photos below.

This weekend we did a follow-up game to the USMC vs the United Front.  This was a U.S Marine vs Comintern fight that we set in the nearby town of Galt.  It was mainly a game to test our new air attack rules so the commies really didn't stand much of chance but the Comintern player (the redoubtable Leadfool) gave it his best shot and actually managed to hold on longer than he should have before retreating.  Photos (taken by my good friend Vynnie) are below.
