Optional bits for the Army List.
« on: May 22, 2011, 01:35:42 PM »
I've been working on a list that I'll post up here when it's more complete (no spoilers, lol!). But - it occurred to me that some players (ok, me!) might like to field bigger forces than just 1 platoon, or have other platoons fighting alongside. So - I had an idea for a "Higher Command" unit - it would act as another command option (probably 2 vehicles + teams, as a company commander), but have a couple of unique abilities;

Allies: You may field 0-1 Allied Platoon from any other Army List of the same or allied Nationality appropriate to the theatre and time, this will become subordinate to the higher command unit.

Promote: As an action, the higher command team may promote a single team to platoon command team in the event that the original platoon command team has been eliminated. The unit leader would gain the "Command" ability.

Good idea, or not necessary?

Hmm, if we wanted bigger games we just agreed on 2 or 3 times the original army organisations.
Like: OK my 1500 US Armoured Infantry + 1000 pts of airborne vs your 2500 Tank heavy Panzergrenadier force.
cheers and keep on gaming, Agis - https://www.adpublishing.de

 ;)

actually, if you´re playing bigger games as a multiplayer event - with each player getting his own platoon - it is more fun without something like a higher command authority!

In a few of our playtesting games sometimes you could hear something like "...hell, no way I will use my artillery strike for your advance on the left flank. Maybe I will need it in a later turn to cover the Heavy Machine Gun on my right side...".

Something like unit bias I suppose
