Daemon World Challenge
« on: August 18, 2020, 06:56:46 AM »
With the release of Warhammer 40,000 (9th Edition) we decided to expand our very small isolation bubble to include the kids of a (very responsible) friend and play a short narrative campaign with them and my son, Finnegan, to try out the new rules.

Of the four of us three had chaos forces, so we convinced the fourth to jump in and pick up some Thousand Sons.

The background was that Slaanesh Daemon Prince Garfongdong - ruler of a Daemon World, deep in the Eye of Terror, invited four warlords - each from a different renegade legion, each serving a different Chaos god - to participate in a series of challenges - to determine which among them was the best. The prize - rulership over their own Daemon World!

We sort of tried the new Crusade Campaign rules - with some slight modifications - instead of starting with 50 Power Level, we started with 25 and would ONLY play Combat Patrol level games (because the one player only had the 25 Power Level he had just picked up and painted in July to participate in the game, which was good of him to do, we thought it rather unfair to play larger battles - even though most of us could have fielded almost twice that). WE also started with fewer requisition points (2) since we had smaller forces and wouldn't be growing them, there wasn't much need.

The Forces...
