No worries about hijacking fella.   It was a wake up call to face it, so one to be wary of next time for sure.

Great figures and terrain and well reported. Thanks for posting.

Re the attempted coup de main, in this case it wouldn’t have worked, the Probe scenario objective for the attacker in the rules state a team must reach the table edge, a single ‘big man’ even in a jeep wouldn’t qualify he’d of need some company with him.

So it does! 🧐

Never mind…..outcome would most likely have been the same anyway, but it pays to read it carefully!  Thanks.

I built a workshop / factory unit over on my “ Europe Ablaze” thread, dressing up a rather bland looking laser cut mdf piece, and I’m quite happy how it turned out.  This will sit nicely alongside my more rural collection of cast resin pieces.

This is similar to modifying the printed pla garage a few pages back, as I realise I have run out of good cast resin buildings so need to learn how to add printed buildings (as well as laser mdf) to the collection without ruining the overall appearance of the collection.

With that in mind, I have decided to set about another print…this ruined house.  Like the garage, and in order to mask the obvious print lines, the first thing was to plaster over the “plaster” which will give it more depth.

The issue with printed wrecked buildings, from what I’ve seen, is that as soon as they try to “design” debris…..it is ultimately rather flat in appearance, and because of its desired jumbled nature, the print lines become even more exaggerated.   Plus, they print them as if no debris falls outside the building.  In the case of mdf wrecks, they are almost entirely devoid of rubble.

Anyway, in order to both disguise the bad print lines and to give it a more realistic level of damage, I have added more debris.

I simply have a few bags of sand, bricks, rock debris, cut up planking and a few choice pieces of furniture (debris of war) for added interest.   I simply pile it where I want it…then pour superglue on which runs though it and sets it instantly.

In the case of the outside pile…..I simply put down a small piece of paper first under the building and around where I want the pile……build up the pile against the building then apply superglue.  When it’s done, I simply tear off the excess paper.

Anyway…one for the paint queue….

And something I’ve been meaning to finish for a while…security fencing.  Bit of a pain threading in the barbed wire but finished now.

The buildings are great but I am especially impressed with the wire fencing.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

+1 to that.  That fencing should prove to very useful and versatile...

Cheers.

Ok, today saw the opening game for Operation Martlet.  However, before we started gaming, Jamie handed me some new additions to allow smooth gameplay.

The 250’s need gunners which I will sort out.  I don’t have summer campaign Mk IV, my others being in winter dress.

The AVRE, is Trenchworks and there is a fascine roll to paint for it but I love this tank.  The Stuart isn’t strictly for this campaign, but it will come in for other games to be sure.   I will sort out a commander for it.  Both of these are lovely paint jobs….well done and thank you Jamie!
