Coming from an Agricultural background and having hauled many thousands of bales of hay and straw I see that what you have are bales of straw in the barn. All ready for bedding for the winter. Your thread has been a true inspiration and given much food for thought for my own projects and an incentive to get my own stuff painted.

Cheers fellas…..the bales (I think you are right JB, are definitely more straw than hay….but that’s what they are sold as 🤔) are from Anyscale Models.  You should use your Agra background to knock up a few bits for sure!

Can't help with the Chickens I'm afraid but the look and  colours of the bales are great Digits and it was in no way a criticism and realistically Hay is a lot finer than straw and at that scale would look like boxes with string. Nice job all the way round, I just wish I had your imagination.

And another barn from Grand Manner.  A little on the small size but as it’s medieval in origin, that’s fine.  Crappy pics but you get the idea.

And work started on what will be my final barn.  This one is a printed two part that I’ve glued together and started on the plasterwork.  Should look a bit better painted!



Thinking on other ideas….I’ve a mind to make some pig pens and possibly but a model silo…or make one, not decided yet.

Also working on a wall section with espalier fruit trees, and the lean to as an orangery.   A little bit too artsy perhaps?  I don’t care.

Doing a bit more walling.  To make it a bit more interesting, I’m doing this brick wall as maybe the walled enclosure of a posh residence or well to do farmer.   This is the first part, the orangery!  Yup, more akin to making a dolls house perhaps, but I like the detail it adds!
