Finally sitting down to start prepping my German paras.

First problem.....I need six MMG teams.  I have another that I’d forgotten to order on the way, but as usual, this range (Artizan) only has four unique teams.  However, they do have a few additional fellas carrying belt feeds, so I bought a sprue of Warlord plastics as there are two guns on the sprue.  Simply add a base to the Warlord minis to get the height up to match the Artizan minis and I will have 6 unique teams.

Query though....came across an old press release from Artizan regarding among other things, three different Fallshirmjager motorcycle combo teams.  I have not seen them anywhere....did they ever get released?

According to a 2015 TMP thread:

Quote
Artizan are out until new masters are made. The moulds are shot beyond repair. It is BTD or conversions now. I'll hunt for any remaining Artizan ones as I have one already.

I'd be tempted to give the Offensive Miniatures ones a crack - EGFJ417: FJ - 2 X Motorcycle & Sidecar (6 figures)

I’m not in a hurry for them tbh.

Order turned up from Paint & Glue.

I ordered a small church / chapel but will comment on that when I’ve put it together.

For now though, happy with these haystacks.

The Jagdpanzer comes as a one piece print.  I knew I would be plastering it with foliage as an ambush predator, so wasn’t too concerned about print lines.   Yes they are very evident, and if I were to try and field it without foliage, I would need to spend a bit of effort smoothing down plates etc.

But have to say, for the money, not a bad piece.  It looses a little definition around the tracks and wheels but I’m a Wargamer not a collector.  By time we plaster a little mud there....who will notice?!

I’ve also ordered some rail track from them.  Interested to see how they turn out.

Go check them out!

I’ve glued the chapel together.

For 28mm it really is only a little chapel.  Pop it in a base with a wall around it OpenDoc a few headstones and it will be a fine looking piece of terrain.  Printing is pretty good here and if you were thinking of printed buildings over mdf say, there is plenty of relief detailing.  I really bought this to check that, and being one of the cheapest / smallest buildings, I’m keen to see a larger one now.

If I have one criticism, I’d argue that the doors should not be made to look like double doors....just won’t work at this scale though you could use it for 15 or at a pinch 20mm.  No, it should be made single doored.

Great work and good to see a vehicle from Paint and Glue in the flesh so too speak.  I've been considering picking up some 15mm pieces as the bits I want never made it into plastic.  I look forward to seeing it completed and bedecked in camo.

If this helps, these are paint and glue products, in 28mm.
I know what you mean about items never coming out in metal.
I like all the early war cheap and cheerful vehicles, but no one was ever going to cast them, as there probably wouldn’t be a market for the them.

Indeed, there weren’t many options for the jagdpanzer in 1/56.

The other little addition, seeing as I have been concentrating on rural buildings, is this cheap and useful ramshackle barn from Renedra.   10 minutes to put together, multiperiod uses etc...  what’s not to like?  Not as imposing as my stone barns, this is an ideal stopgap between those and the little sheds I made.   Kind of more like a tractor shed than a barn, and being timber, it adds another visual dynamic as opposed all that brick and stone.

You can also see the gravestones I have.  I have an unbuilt box of Warlord walling, and think that’s what I shall use for a small chapel yard.   Not too imposing ( the TBM church is much bigger but more suited to the town I think) but will make a useful piece of terrain.

Even though I’m short of primer spray, I may make this up later.

Nice.

Ok, so a quick build up....just needs sanding and a little rubble around the damaged walls.  One chapel setting.

That is very nice :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*
Do you think it would work for 1/72 scale?

The chapel?  Yes.    Simply the doors are small so would be fine 1:72, 15/20mm

Anyway, I think you can scale their prints, if not, definitely worth asking.

That is nice, but something bothers me about it, and I think its the cross not facing the same orientation as the building. I'm not sure if there's a hard and fast rule but to me somehow it doesn't look right.

I haven’t glued in the little tower roof deliberately so easy to turn around if that is the rule.

Here we go...sanded and primed.

Once painted, I will get lots of wall climbers, shrubs etc to break up the monotony of the wall and help age the chapel.
