Cheers.

So a couple more pieces of stock fencing.  I want to get some walls soon too.

I don’t think I can stress the importance of fencing/hedgerows/walls etc on the battlefield.

Each in their own right offering differing degrees of cover, or none in this case.

I also feel adding bits of hedge or shrubbery breaks the monotony of a fence line and improves the look of the table.

When I get a bit more wire, I will make a grassed / collapsed section too as well as one or two further section.  This particular fencing is great demarkation for road boundaries etc without blocking lines of sight.  Btw Jamie’s idea, not mine, but happy to copy!

That is some fantastic looking terrain, Dig! Especially in a game like CoC, these linear obstacles that block movement but not lines of fire make for really interesting battlefield obstacles. It also means that sappers and engineers have a use on table  ;)

You can get it on eBay.  This isn’t spiral wound...you may want to get that, especially if you want to do concertina barbed wire as well.

Been a little busy so not much done....but I have painted a few metal cattle.

Looking a little sorry for themselves however!

Useful “scatter terrain” offering a little possible cover for a team I think.  Will do for both the Ardennes and Normandy games.  Seeing as I painted them as Normande Shorthorns.

I know they were a common sight in Normandy but I wouldn't like to hide behind a dead cow

If that’s the only cover available, you would.  I can imagine them to be as effective as sand bags! Lol

I remember reading when they were filming Saving Private Ryan, they shot many, many rounds into dead cows, presumably for sound effects!

"...they very quickly smell a lot worse."

From George Wilson's "If You Survive":
...one of our tanks accidentally ran over a dead cow...there was the terrible mouth-filling stench to add to the gore...I fell down on my hands and knees and was retching miserably...

A trigger for shock?

Goodies received and ready for painting.

More Renedra fencing and a couple of gates from Magister Militum.  Realising you can not have enough fencing!

Plastic bridge from Warlord.  Reasonably sized and wide enough for large tanks.  Just needs a river next!

Jump off markers from TFL, a fantastic fuel stack of Jerry cans from Baueda (lovely casting) and a larger fuel drum marker from MM.  Not sure why it has a figure hole but easy to sort out.

Oh, and the cows have arrived so I can look at a few gory looking explosions Pete!  ;)
