Talking of war crimes, I have tried out my test scheme for my Summer SS.

As usual, I have tried to keep it muted…..and the camo scale down which naturally darkens them. This is my attempt at the two main camos that I will be using. All three have been painted the same in this instance but future chaps will get a little variation…..mixing in an autumn pattern pea dot etc…

So the smocks and helmet covers are my simple (as in, if I have to paint more than a couple of dozen, I won’t end up a nervous wreck!) take on “blurred edge” M1942 and a pea dot M44 on the trousers. I’m happy enough with them anyway.

Just a matter of doing another 50 troops now!

Unfortunately, at this distance, it's so blurred you can't even get an overall impression other than a muted blue grey colour. We've seen your painting, it's quite good enough to withstand a close up.

Agree with all the above, they do look good. I was hoping for closeups so we could get an idea of colour selection, pattern and technique, as it always helps to learn from others.

If you REALLY want it, I tend to make my own reference notes and selections for each scheme. Drop me a line if you do.
