Working through my 15mm Sci-Fi. GZG CDF 8/31
« on: August 23, 2020, 02:38:50 AM »
I've finally finished my 15mm Rebel Minis Earth Force Homeguard after finding several unpainted packs while sorting through tubs of minis.

I posted a review and some photos on the blog.

I also posted some photos and a video to my instagram

Nice work, how much more do you have to work through? If it's anything like me it's could be a couple of thousand. My Wife swears I'm just buying them just to collect them! lol lol

Just finished the last six of these guys. Probably under a thousand total. I was making a lot of progress until Ground Zero Games released some new stuff I wanted...

What are you using for grass on your bases? Looks great at that scale.

Also... seriously? 1000 miniatures that need painted? You guys are making me feel positively delighted about my couple hundred unpainted figures lol

That's Army Painter "Grass Green". Unfortunately they just changed the formula and it's not as good IMO, it's more powdery and doesn't have those distinct "blades" anymore :(

I picked up about 250 WWII Soviets for a horde army I never got around to making... Plus at 15mm it's easy to rack up those numbers! that's my excuse at least!

Damn, I was afraid you were going to say they don't make that grass anymore. Fine turf is too fine for my tastes (dust like is the best description) and coarse turf is too much at this scale unless you spend a lot of time tearing it up. Those grass bits look great. Shame about the change in the product.

Yeah, I'm not happy. The new stuff will do fine on my 6mm bases, which actually solves one problem. But now I need to find something else for the rest of my forces.

I painted up some test pieces and did a review on my blog of GZG's Colonial Defense Force troops. Great line that ties in well with the 15mm militia.
Plenty of photos and painting scheme on the blog:
