Well Colin, on the strength of this thread I stumbled across a Hasbro U wing on ebay and bought it. I should have realised from your photos but I totally underestimated just how sodding big it was. When it arrived wrapped up I thought I'd ordered a sledge.

Great looking model Colin, you’ve really nailed it with that paintjob

It's around 1:45 s far as I can make out. A bit to big for me but with the wings not there it looks more manageable.

Great paint job  8)

The paint job is looking great. Did you prime it first or just paint over the top?

Great looking ship.

You really should talk to Ebay about a commission, I've just bought one too...

I think I'll try my new clay washes on it and see if I can get away with not painting it.

1:45 sounds about right. I've read that a lot of legion players use it for terrain and its a tiny bit too big for their 1:47 models.

Now you've got a taste for larger models, if you can still find it there's a Hasbro Millennium Falcon that is approx 1/48. I bought one a few years ago but it's still sitting in the loft unpainted. My blog article at http://zemjw.blogspot.com/2015/02/hasbro-millennium-falcon.html has pictures.

The thought of doing the sort of drybrushing on it that you did on the u-wing makes me start to whimper  o_o

Cheers Colin. I'll do the same, as your version looks so much better.
