After Action Report - Old School - Rolica 1808 turns 1-2
« on: September 01, 2020, 03:37:13 PM »
The long distance basement battle for the recreation of Rolica has begun.  It's 1808 and a small allied army is working its way South after landing in Portugal to chase out the most hated French.  I have updated my initial battle report with the results of turn 2 as the hostilities commence...

Hard pounding, loved the way the thump of the 9pdrs flummoxed the time-space-continuum!

Gosh, those triangular artillery bases take me back!  (Which rules - Airfix or Bayonet Publications?)
No plan survives first contact with the dice.

I first saw the triangular shaped bases in the Airfix guide back in the late 70s.  The rules we are using are a home grown variety for simple Napoleonic battles written by Ian Spencer.  You can access them on his site:  http://hintonhunt.blogspot.com/

Thanks Harry!  It was about time something shook that "way back machine" into proper operation!

Thanks - happy days.  Bayonet Napoleonics were the first rules I ever bought, at one of the MEE shows at Seymour Place; they had some cut-out shapes for artillery effects (one was a canister cone).

I sold all my Minifigs S Range (to someone whom I know appreciates them); the other "oldies" all got broken or lost, sadly.

Baron von Wreckedoften - Good for you!  Always a good thing when old figures find a home where they are appreciated!

Thanks Jambo!  Just finishing up turn 3.  I think next turn will see some major developments as the British start to take the hills.  Hope the French can hold out long enough!
